At 5:00 pm I decided it was a good idea to let them make salt dough (recipe here) while I made dinner. And even considering sticky clean up and the delayed meal, it was a good idea. How I love our kitchen—the room in our house where almost everything can happen all at once. You see, it is the room: the dining room, the living room, the family room, the dancing room, the craft room, the dog training room, the play room. You name it: it all comes to life in this space—and usually while I'm preparing something to eat.

I love how colorful your dough is. It is worth the mess and delay if they're happily occupied. It 's a good reminder for me! I'm going to try the recipe.
ReplyDeleteI was skeptical at first of a 'no cook' recipe for play dough, but it really did work well. (We did add a bit more flour than suggested.) The girls even baked a few of their creations. Success!
DeleteVery fun! That's one of the few things I don't like about our house--separate kitchen and dining room makes it hard to talk between the two when someone's cooking.
ReplyDeleteI guess that's just an excuse to have everyone helping out together in the kitchen!
